any plans for vortech type powerheads?

Wondering if anyone has any plans for making powerhead where the power cords do not go into the water?

RC shuts down threads where people try to make vortech pumps because they sponsor RC.

It's not an evil thing really, if they sponsor this site then lets be respectful and not try to counterfeit their product here.

But I do feel like they charge too much...

I believe that thread in question was shut down because people were actually trying to have something injection molded which would have created a near identical replica. There's a difference between a DIY project and a patent ripoff with RC being the enabler.

I see the idea have a few problems: noise, heat and potential damage to acrylic.
I guess the next idea will be to actually drill a hole in the glass and use a bulkhead type device. Seeing that so many reef have so many holes for circulation it won't be that far fetched.
