i finally got a typhoon 3 , i am planning on making the water in bullk and just keeping it in a 42 brute which is all set up. My question is how long can i let the filter sit without using it, 42 gallons shoudl last me a few weeks, if i turn it on once a week in between fill ups for about a hour will that be ok???or will i get bacteria build up

I'd keep it in a cool dark place with a lid. You might want to keep a small powerhead in it to keep it moving.

If you find you don't need all 42 gallons, just keep it half full or where ever you need it.

I use and Kent float valve on mine and lowered it about one foot after I got rid of a tank and stopped using so much water.

This way, everytime I do a topoff (almost everyday) I'm adding fresh water.

You might want to add a float valve. All you have to do for the Kent is drill a 5/8 hole and attach the tubing from the RO/DI.
