nano 9002 air line ?

Anyone have a trick to keeping that little elbow that connects the air line to the pump clear? Im getting tired of having to pull it a part all the time and soaking it in vinegar to clear it. Maybe a mod I can do to add a bigger elbow?

Raise the skimmer, it can only get clogged if it takes in water. If you raise it 1/4" or so, it should greatly extend the time between cleaning.

My water level is about a 1/4" below the water line on the skimmer. Should I still raise it?

It would be worth trying, I would raise it another 1/4". If it is in a turbulent area, fluctuations may be causing it take in water through the air intake on occasion. The only other possibility is if the skimmer is under a canopy it may be taking in the moist salt air and this could cause an accumulation of minerals in the elbow as well.
