Hey, all. Like the subject states my brittle star is under attack. I have in the tank 1 yellow coral banded shrimp. 2 peppermint shrimp 1 domino damsel, 1 gold damsel, 1 convict damsel, 1 cinnamin clown, 1 gold gobie and 1 emerald crab. The rest of the tank is clean-up crew hermits about 10 and assorted snails. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you seeing it being eaten or are you just seeing pieces missing? Tips of the legs?
I have had them for many years and I believe they eat themselves when they do not get enough food and that was confirmed by "Greenbean" I believe, who is pretty knowledgeable. Do a search and you may find the other thread. I have never had mine die from this but it is a shame when it happens. Odd thing is sometimes when I find them like that and I offer food they decline it. Eventually once this habit stops they will regrow them back.

I assume you are trying to find out what is attacking it. I would start with the damsels. They are very territorial and I have had them fight other fish and kill shrimp before. I would think the brittle star would hide in the rockwork if being attacked.

Are you sure you have a coral banded shrimp? It will kill our peppermint shrimp if it is one.

Oh yea, its a banded coral. I think he killed my skunk cleaner, but who knows.

I have not heard of them attacking bristle stars but they will attack some crabs and other shrimp so it might be possible.

I'm confused, has anything been answered here yet except the fact that you have a coral banded shrimp?
