now that i have your attention. I live in S.F. California and i went fishing in the bay today and when it was low tide i discovered a huge amount of ulva but i don't know if i can keep it in my reef system considering it comes from cold water and would it be adviseable to do so, if you can. thanks for any info you can give me.

Ulva in one part of the world is usually the same species as all the others. Ulva latuca is the most common species, and we have it here on Long Island, the same species found in Florida, and many other places. I would say its probably fine to put it in your display just give it a good acclimation period. If it starts getting yellow/white and gets very slimy then remove it because it is not going well.

thanks Beaun. I really appreciate the advise. I guess I can give it a try then, and keep a sharp eye on it.
