View Full Version : unidentified plant/algae? help

help my tank has this light green plant thing looks like an algae but i dont know, its kinda looks like it has pores? and has tube like extremities i will try and get a photo they looked ok b/4 but now that its near one of my corals i can see the coral dieing(shriviling up) soo plz if this is a common organism plz let me know and if its dangerous i expected my tank and i can see other places it is growing i need to know what it is and if dangerous or not
i' willl try and get a pic later this afternoon cause i need a better camera i'm getting worried.

what are they?
are they beneficial or harmful?
if harmful how do i get rid of it? OMG help me

Ok well are sponges safe with coral?

Most sponges will not last long in a reef tank without a lot of extra husbandry. I would not worry about it.

OK b/c it is growing lol and spreading... sigh located like all through out the tank thank you... i'm feeling better now though thx for the replies
