I'm going to be "cutting" down a couple of my Kenya Trees to bring to LFS for trade in. As you can see in the pictures below, the trunks are about 1" in diameter. What is the best way to cut these? With a sharp kitchen knife, or a pair of scissors. I'm cutting one whole tree down and chopping off a couple of branches to bring in. I'll be a regular NW logger today!!:D

^^Single edged straight razor or a pair of scissors. I like cutting them with scissors myself.

Will a vegetable scissor that comes in knife sets work? Is that strong enough? If I cut it at the base will it grow back or will the base that's left on the rock die? I would like them to grow back, just need to trim back and let my Hairy mushroom get more light.

The stuff left on the rock will grow back. They are almost impossible to get rid of unless you put some Kalk paste on the "stump" after you cut it off. I think any scissors will work, as these are pretty easy to cut through

I know it's case by case, but assuming you trade those cut down in, what did you get for them. Dollars or otherwise. I know they are pretty common, that's why I'm giving bigger stalks and they are growing fast in my tank. Was hoping to trade in for a good size frogspawn, hammer or something similar.

That's funny, I was thinking of calling in a helicopter like they do in Canada. Love to watch the Heliloggers.!!:eek1:

I used to just bring a few branches and if i bought something they would take 5 or 10 bucks off the price. not much but at least it's something
