Hi all,

I will be starting my 90 G tank soon and i was looking into getting an octo extreme 200 for it. However i have a chance to get a PM bullet 1 for a great price. I was wondering which one performs better? Or if there are others in the 300.00 range that would be even better.

TIA
John

I just got a extreme 250 for my 120 and its sweet. I have no experience with the PM bullet, I did look at them before I bought the extreme however and they look pretty cool. The price on the 250 was what got me to buy it :P

You are comparing a Ferrari (the PM Bullet) with a Toyota (Octo).

Eveyone buys the Toyota (Octo), but wants a Ferrari.

This should answer your question.

And Yes.... I own the Ferrari

I used to own a PM Bullet 1 & 2, at the moment I have an Reef Octopus Extreme 200.
Not only does it skim better, consumes a lot less energy, but it's easier to clean and adjust. Just my own experience.

Beckett designs are not for energy efficiency.

They are for performance.

A beckett design skimmer will outperform a pinwheel skimmer. Period.

The flow rate is not even in the same category comparing the two.

This why almost all Commercial traders and aquariums use beckett design skimmers.

Wow this is back from the dead. O got the octo 200 with a BB3000. It more than exceeds my expectations. 260 for the skimmer 200 for the pump.

I know someone w/ the PM, makes more noise than my reef octo X, seems fussy, gets weird w/ certain foods.
I guess it produces good skim, but I sure like my quiet set and forget reefocto.
