I thought I would start a build thread for my new tank. Its up and running now, the water is still a bit murky from the setup, but it's starting to look pretty good. I got started with salt water tanks back in 2003 when I had a 75gal fowlr tank. I was in the military at the time and had it running for about 18 months but due to a deployment, I had to take it down. I've been wanting to set up another tank ever since but the timing wasn't right until I just couldn't bear it anymore and decided to set up a nano. So here it is, a CPR 6 gallon AIO (the display measures out just under 6 gallons with about another 2 gallons in the rear). The tank was on sale at a LFS and I couldn't resist. The equipment it came with was a Rio 90 pump and a 2x13watt CP fixture. I was originally going to replace the pump and upgrade the light but due to such limited space in the rear compartment, I just drilled a hole and put in a second Rio 90 for a total of 160gph (still sounds like to little flow even though it adds up to over 25 times an hour). Eventually I might upgrade the lighting but for now I'll stick with it. I replaced the stock bulbs with coralife 50/50's. Anyways until I buy a house this is all the tank I get, so I'm just gonna stick with some zoo's, maybe some xenia, a small fish and a a pair of sexys. Sorry the glass isn't perfectly clean in the photos and my camera sucks. http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/danimal1211/?action=view&current=DSCF0026.jpg http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/danimal1211/?action=view&current=DSCF0018.jpg

Thanks, I still don't really understand what I did wrong. I hit the IMG button, didn't take out the "http", and the address ends in .jpg. What did you do different? Anyways this is both my first Acrylic tank and my first small tank so I have a couple dumb questions for you guys. First, I've got a mag scraper for acrylic, but how do you get coralline off of acrylic without a razor blade? Second, for those with really small tanks like mine, is anyone using an ATO?

In this picture here, you can see the little make shift media stand I made in the first chamber, floating to the top, I plan on running chemipure elite once the cycle is over (I really just wanted to try and get this pick posting thing down).

danimal, see how your first tag is on a different line to the link? You've effectively separated the link from the tag, so you need to go back and ensure both tags and the link are on the one line. Like this...

[IMG]http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/...11/DSCF0028.jpg

...click the quote button on my post to see how I did it.

Also, when you are in P'bucket, there is a list of four types of link for each picture. The one at the bottom will be labelled "Forums & Message Boards" and will be wrapped in [IMG] tags, already; copy that one and paste straight into your post. You won't need to click the [IMG] button again, as the IMG tags will transfer from your P'bucket... hth!

quick update, the tanks been running for six days now. Thanks to the cured rock and seeded sand, the cycle seems to be undetectable so far, ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrates around 5, ph 8.2 temp stays between 802 and 80.7 all day. I added a hydor flow to add random flow.
