Any input about these skimmers? I'm in need of a HOB skimmer and have heard good things about this one. I'm looking for something that won't look huge hanging on the back of my tank, is efficient and quiet!

Look elsewhere, this skimmer is big, inefficient and loud. Checkout the Deltec MCE600, Octopus 800s, Warner Marine H2X oe possibly the new Euro Reef's.

I haven't used any of the above suggested so I can't comment, but my Remora pro with a mag 5 pulls out tons smelly skimmate. I have to empty the collection cup everyday. Keeps the water in my 75 gallon SPS pristine.

swhaley do you find it noisy? Looking at the measurements it doesn't seem that big.

They are not a very good skimmer IMO.

I ran one on my old 35 flatback for over a year. It was MUCH better than the SeaClone that the remora replaced. It tended to skim pretty wet, and needed cleaning often. The spray injection is fairly noisy tho and the salt creap was horrid.

Crap, I was told this was a good one. I'm looking for a fairly quiet, not too big, and somewhat efficient one, but I have a budget of about 200$. I'm currently running the Coral life super skimmer 220 on my reef and I like it, but I need something smaller to hang on the back of my new tank.

I used this skimmer for a short time, it was too loud

Yes, it's loud but it can be modded and quite down a ton. Google an you'll see the one I'm referring to...all I can say is I've seen over the back skimmers that don't even deserve to be called a skimmer, an I've seen pictures of what the octo HOB pulled out of a 75 and it was zero compared to my Remora Pro, and I have a small bioload. I just saw a post of someone that had a remora pro and sold it for a Euroreef Rs-80 and that the pro pulled out way more skimmate, they regretted selling it. It gets a bad wrap at RC.
