You might try Les at Wet Pets Hawaii, he has one from time to time and his fish are great. http://www.wetpetshawaii.com/

It's a store by me. Great selection of fish. They get a lot of rare stuff in without the inflated prices of other places around here like Old Town Aquarium. They had it in a tank with maybe one other fish. It was in a system with mostly reef fish not in their larger fish system. I would be wary if it was in with the larger stuff as they get a lot of show size fish, which in my experience, tend to be a little parasite laden. Not just in their store but as a whole. To my knowledge they treat all of their systems for parasites as a rule. You would really be better off talking to them about it. I'm not even sure if they ship. It is one of the better stores, if not the best, in my area. They definitely know what they're doing with fish. I'm more of a coral guy and didn't shop there as much before because I worked for their competitor and we had more coral but they have really stepped up their game in the last couple years and seem to be doing better than just staying afloat in this economy.

Just rotten luck huh. That is one of those fish that is best stumbled upon when the time is right rather than aggressively searching it out. Prices are sure to be high right now if they are that hard to find.

prices are always high unless you know where to look but those places don't have any. ;)

My LFS (Fish and Other Ichthy Stuff in Oldsmar, FL) has had a very large, drop dead gorgeous one for a while. The owner, John, ships but he will not sell it to someone with less than a 200 gallon tank that is well established. He usually carries smaller ones also but I don't remember if he had any recently or not. I don't have room for another tang right now so they are kind of off the radar when I'm looking.

most likely everyone that had a black tang are already gone. There wont be any more until mid next month on the next christmas island shipment. I believe it was the 15th...
