noticed about a month ago my ph in the tank has been around 8.4 thought no big deal would mix up some fresh ro water to fix. several weeks later c.o.r.a.l color is a little affected and ph still high. checked my fresh mixed ro saltwater and ph was 8.4-8.6 decided to check from the ro and it was in the same range. traded out my filters several months ago and wasn't paying too much attention. before the change had issues keeping the water up around 8.0 any idea on what to do? change filters or membrane? any help is appreciated.

I don't think pH is your problem.

If you see changes in your colors, I would look at other parameter changes.

Calcium, Alkalinity etc.

Can you list your other parameters ?

I do not see anything wrong with those numbers.

The pH of fresh water is not important as fresh water has no buffering capacity.

I would start to explore other changes recently made in the tank.

I guess I should have posted in the sps section. I recently switched from an I don't know how old 250 watt 10k reeflux bulb to 20k reeflux bulb.

Could be the problem.

Chemically speaking, you're looking good.

Good luck. :)

Your calcium and mag are a little high. Your alk is on the low end. Bring alk up to at least 9dkh or 3.2 meq/l
