trying to decide between an aquacontroller 3 pro and a reefkeeperelite
Have some questions:
Main difference between the RKE and AC3 is that RKE does not support salinity monitoring, but I have also read that the probe is prone to alot of errors, is that true and how many of you use the salinity probe?
Another question is how many of you had an RKE and switched to ac3 pro and why?
RKE is supposed to come up with a software upgrade that would allow it to be remotely programable, right now, only monitoring is supported, this is another deciding factor.

Sent you a PM. Go with the AC3 and don't look back. I'm a current (and hopefully soon to be former) RKE owner, who will be switching over. The RKE fails miserably in a number of ways...everything is delayed to no end, DA makes a ton of promises they cant keep. In fact I was told flat out that online control would be available and it isn't. AC3 not only allows control via the internet but from your iphone. Unless you need 256 outlets for some reason, the AC3 is the way to go.

ACIII without a question. The RKE is an overpriced RKII. They added a nicer head unit and the ability to control more things than you'll ever need! You have to spend an extra $120 to be able to look at the params on the tank. Hope there isn't a problem....because you can't control anything remotely. With the ACIII you can. Plus the programming language is easier, IMO.

The best part of it is the price is a lot cheaper for more!

I waited for over a year on DA....and when they came out with the net mode it was basicly just a email alert...I am well satisifed with my aquacontroler setup...

Tomorow Im headed out to south texas for a few days, i will be able to log on and check how my system is doing from my iphone and make changes if necessary....and be able to get a peak at the tank through a webcam....handy to see if the main return pump is cavatating...a sump level indication.

In short I would still purchase a aquacontroler 3 over the elete even if the price was three times more expensive...!
