Just changed this out in the reactor and it seems my skimmer is pulling some out of the water. I rinsed the stuff with over 5 gallons of water and it seemed clear but obviously it wasn't.

So, I'm wondering what possible effects could this PhosLock (ferric hydroxide) have if it makes it to the water and then the DT?

Please note, the reactor isn't pouring out red water like when you start to rinse. The effluent is clear as I can tell and I'm not seeing any of the media coming out of the chamber.

i wouldnt worry about it, you washed it through and the water will not be affected by this imo

you can rinse pura phoslock until your blue in the face you will NOT be able to rinse it dust free. believe me I've tried now thru about 3 tubs worth. for me it always clears up quickly and no harm done. actually only the 1rst time when I thought I rinsed it well I really browned up the water but i've learned to REALLY rinse it well since then.
