Just picked up a Berlin X2 Turbo skimmer and have issues in placement.(anyone using one of these)
Don't want it hanging on the back of tank so the only solution is to put it on the sump.
Its a 55gal with a 10gal sump. I barely fits in there but not unough room for the skimmer lines to drain back into the sump. When I hang it on the outside of the sump the feed pump to the skimmer is a bit too high and should be lower to the bottom of the sump. This is a new set-up and from my past tanks I know that when the return pump is shut off, the water will continue to drain for a bit until it subsides. I am afraid that the high sump water to begin with and after shut off it might overflow.
Has anyone done any modifications to a skimmer/sump that might correct a problem like this?????
