I just tested my water with a mix of Salifert and Red Sea test kits.

Nitrate: 0 (Red Sea)
Phosphate: .1 (Red Sea)
Magnesium: 1400 (Red Sea)
Alk: 8.3 - Is to low? (Salifert)
PH: 8.2 (Salifert)
Calcim: 440 (Salifert)
Temp: 77
SG: 34- I know this is a little low. (Instant Ocean swing arm hydrometer)

My question is this I cannot seem to keep my phosphates at zero, so what do I do? I have been using GFO an it brings down the phosphate level for a couple days but by the end of the week its almost back up to where it started. I am currently using three tablespoons.

I have cut down on feeding, my goal that all the food is eaten before it hits the tank floor. I feed my soft and lps every other day with Phyto Feast. I do regular weekly water changes with an RO/DI unit made from Kent Marine, which is only three months old.

My corals look good but corraline on my live rock just is not encrusting, there are some positive patches however, so that being said it makes me think that my corals are not getting enough nutrients to reach their full potential.

Should I continue to do what I am doing with the GFO?
Should I use a Kalkwasser? The bottle at my local fish store says it get rid of phosphate.
Or is their some other plan to get ride of phosphate?

Everything is fine, except perhaps phosphate, depending on the type of tank you are keeping. The GFO is a fine plan. Don't count on limewater (kalkwasser) doing much for phosphate, but it is a fine way to maintain calcium and alkalinity and pH. The elevated phosphate may be deterring the coralline growth.

There are many ways to lower it. I discuss some here:
