The ice melt may be ok, but it also may have contaminates in it. What kind of ice melt?

I am not familiar with this brand. It may be ok or it may have some contaminates.

my friend works at the local dpw and got me a bucket for my walkway, it doesnt list anything on there that spounds like a contaminate, evry ingredient starts with calcium something..

I believe the most likely concern would be increased ammonia levels along with possible increased heavy metal. These would not be listed on the bag. Randy has completed extensive chemical tests on the Dow products and have found them acceptable. It is difficult to get the needed documentation from the manufacturer regarding the possible contaminates. I believe Tetra products are ok according to some of the threads I have read. ;)

Your friend at the dpw should be able to get a msds, and you can find out whats in it.

MSDS sheets will not list all the contaminates. This sheet will lump the inactive ingredients into one large category, which we would be interested in having these broken down into components. ;)

As noted, impurities including metals and bromides could be an issue. Risky but could be ok.

i thought it might be ok because it seems to tbe the same as driveway heat and i know people use that
