You are going to have to specify more.

Are you talking about large? small? Simple as in little/few equipment, or simple as in low maintenance?

There are some very technologically complicated setups out there that require very simple maintenance b/c everything is automated...

I think my 58g is pretty simple. It has one halide light, two powerheads, a skimmer pump, a return pump from the sump, two heaters, an ATO, and a timer for the light. Works great for me!

I think my tank is as simple as it gets ~ no sump or skimmer:

Aquabucket, I just showed your tank to my wife and she said it is too good. :)

Mine's pretty simple, too. Two K4's in the tank, internal overflow to the sump w/skimmer, pumped back into tank. Heater set pretty low to ensure that it doesn't get too cold. Lights on a timer.

No fuss, no muss. I've never understood the tanks with 18 different types of automation. To me, that is just as much or more work making sure everything is working and maintained properly. I think it's because I have to make sure things stay working and maintained at work. I don't need that at home :)

i think my 50 breeder is pretty simple. has a canister filter, HOB skimmer, DIY fuge, and two modded maxi jet 400's. Most advanced piece of equiptment on the tank now is a Tunze Osmolator for top off (i love that thing) and i plan on adding a Litermeter someday so i don't have to manually dose twice a day. oh yeah, and there's a heater in there!
