View Full Version : BTA hiding after I was gone for a week - and with salinity increase

I just got back from vacation last night (for 9 days) and while I was gone my BTA moved and is 'hiding' behind a rock, shrunken up and almost entirely out of site of the lights.

While we were gone the people watching out tank failed to add any top off water and so the salinity jumped to 1.030. Yesterday over the course of about 7 hours I got that back to 1.025.

Before we left we also changed out lighting, as three days before we left it died. We now have 2 39W T5's. Previously there was some PC's. The anemone seemed to love the change right before we left though.

Water params:
temp: 79
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 25

Any idea what could be going on?

Should I move the rock he's on so that he's under the lights?

Thanks,

Darryl

OK,
Just talked to the people who were watching the tank, and he moved last Tues or Weds. . .so he's been behind there for almost a week . . .

This makes me very worried. . . .
