I can’t seem to get the colors in this acan to show up in pics. But I’m getting closer. I think it counts as a rainbow. Let me know what you think.

Def can see the potential of that acan... I have a crappy P&S camera so I never can capture the true colors so I know how you feel...

Shoot in RAW mode (without the flash) and set your color temperature in software. You will have bright accurate color.

I would feel better if it was a p&s but I took those with a Canon Rebel XSi. I'm still learning how to use it. Turns out buying a fancy camera doesn't mean you will be able to take fancy pics. I will keep practicing and post some new pics in a week or two.

Acans make great macro photo subjects, IMHO.

just learn to set your white balance, go to the custom white balance setting put a piece of white pvc in front of the camera, save the setting. $$profit$$

That is a very nice shot you got there.
What lighting was it under when you took that shot?

I think the lens helps
and I reset the white balance
I would like them to be lighter but when I try to make them lighter they look over exposed.

Nice subject! I do think you could make those lighter while avoiding the overexposed look. Try lightening shadows v. cranking up brightness overall.
