Wondering if those of you who have used pond foam or DIY formulas with cement would mind sharing tips/experiences with me. I have a dedicated frag tank, and would like to enclose the frag rack (1/2" PVC with egg crate zip tied to it) in some kind of rock so that it looks nice... i.e. maybe even display worthy itself. That said, I feel like the foam would be easier and definitely quicker, but have read about it maybe deteriorating over time under intense lighting conditions in salt water. Anyone with something to weigh in concerning this would be greatly appreciated.

If you use Pond foam you won't have the issues with degradation. I used Touch n' Foam Landscape and it did the trick, you can even skip the expoxy step using this route. If I could tell you one thing it would be to use more rock than you think you need because that foam will float more than you think.
