Ok, my tank params are good, but I noticed that all of my montis are experiencing something strange. Today there's what appears to be bubbles on the montis near the edge. Anyone have a clue what this is and how to fix it?

There are only 2 things that have happened in the tank. The lighting for my actinics need to be changed out, but my halides are fine ~4months old. I added a new sargasm trigger fish.

The lights shouldn't do that. The only thing I can think of is the trigger nipping them, then the montis try to heal themselves (thats what the 2nd pic looks like.) But this would be the first time I would have heard of a sargassum bothering coral...

Truly a mystery. Good luck.

The first one I would guess some warfare going on between the GSP and the monti.

Anything near the effected edge of the orange one? Also this one from the pic doesnt really look puffy like the first. Could it be just an area of new growth?

Some of my acros do that at the tips. Don't know why. They don't touch anything and only some of the branches do it. They seem to be doing just fine though. They still grow and hold their color. I'm interested in seeing if anyone else knows.

My acros have done that when my calcium and alk were off.

Yeah, the orange one is not near anything. But all of my montis are getting that rough edge when typically in the past any new growth would be semi white and straight. Now it appears that it's gnarled and growing underneath.

I've had this happen too, and also on my ORA green BN. I have GSP, but way in the back corner, not near anything. Bubbles seem to come and go. Happens on some of my encrusting montis too. Weird.

Are Green Star Polyps (GSP) able to damage SPS even if they aren't close to them through chemical warfare? I've heard of leathers doing that, but I don't know about GSP.

Yes GSP are fairly toxic

Actually just got through reading over some Zeovit literature and it has a trouble shooting section.

Bubbles in in the coral tissue it said to test Ca+ but didn't say if high or low was the cause!!!
