I am considering building a new tank about 21"x21"x21" tall.

What thickness would I need to go rimless?

Oh and if anyone has time and can suggest a cut list for what I would ask for? I know a few people have done this before and that would be very helpful. I am no good with figuring out what I would need to ask for. I have been practicing the gluing on scraps lately though ;)

Any advice or a thread with an acrylic build would be awesome!

for a cutlist make your bottom 21by21
2sides 20x20
other sides20x21
all 1"material for a rimles cube......
i have a thread on here that shows how to build a tank on the first page called building a custom tank 101 check it out.......im sure all of your questions will be answered.....

Actually...what about if i went with eurobracing?

1/2"?

What if I went 18"x18"x18"? I guess what I am getting at, is that I kind of want to go with 1/2" for the cost.

What brands would you recommend?

i would put a 3" euro brace on it.....for materials use acrylite gp or plexiglass g....both good quality cast materials...

1" acrylic is not always one 1 inch. just like 1/4" is not always a 1/4. Infact .250 is rare. .236, .220 or .238 are common.

I like acrylite gp.

Heres the thing...

I can't spend a fortune on this. I want to go as cheap as possible really and end up with a tank close to the dimensions above.

Lets say I go 18"x18"x18"

What thickness for rimless?
What thickness if I put a 3" eurobrace in?

Any chance of building a tank close to these dimensions with 1/4"? Obviously would need to be braced and that's fine I guess.

Sorry to be such a pain in the...

Thanks for all your help!

With a good euro brace( one solid top) you might get away with ture 1/4(.250) for a 18" cube.

let's say 3/8" to be on the safer side on a 18"cube.......that is with a solid one piece eurobrace min.2.5".......1/4"material i would go 12 by 12...i have built quite a few 60 gal cubes out of 1/2" ......24x24x24 with a 2" euro brace and they look excellent........
