I thought I'd share this with everyone. In case you didn't know, I am becoming an avid hobby blogger and am starting to build some great recognition in the blogosphere.

I came up with the term Blue-Collar Reefing and is my niche in the hobby. I am no expert but am budget conscious and a DIY nut, so its makes sense.

My blog is at http://www.oceanathome.com and here is what its about:

Ocean@Home is my contribution to the reef aquaria hobby and is the official site of Blue-Collar Reefing (BCR). BCR is about practical, budget-conscious reefing relying on DIY and knowledge to put you one step ahead in this wonderful hobby.

I've already had one post on another great blog www.AquaDaily.com and was approached by Jake Adams at www.************.com (a great blog and a must read!) to contribute on the topic.

Anywho, I wrote my first post there and just discovered it yesterday (long story!!!) Here is the link, enjoy and let me know what you think:

Yeah thank you! I spent a lot of late nights tweaking away at the template, adding stuff in and transfering stuff over. Still ironing out the kinks, but is fun!

I love the forums, but I also appreciate having my own voice out there ;)

I geared it towards having a place that is searchable for my DIY projects, news and reviews but didn't want to be just a copycat blog and add value to reefers.

There is a lot of great information out there but I found a lot of it is very highbrow and from the "reefing experts" everyone follows and not a lot of quality for the reefer, from a reefer blogs out there.

It coming along pretty well and am surprised to see I am getting traffic from ALL OVER THE WORLD! I have regular reader/commenters from Finand and the UK and get hits from Asia, Europe, Canada and all over the US. Surprising the little countries that check in on it :)

Just my way of giving back to a great group of people!

It's quite fun for sure. I have some ideas on quick Q&A's on a certain topic and open it to our members and get some goodies from the NVR crew since we ALL have something to share that will help someone out. I just have to brainstorm and come up with a good question ;)

Great seeing you yesterday Barbara! Do you have any recent pics of the tank? WOuld love to see how everything is doing now.

I'll take a few quick ones, but I'll start a new thread and not side track from this one.
