it depends on the bulb and the side of the tank. I was running a 20K current and then switched to a 14K phoenix, I obviously saw better growth with it not just because of the kelvin change, but a better bulb. I also only have a 10 gallon tank too. If it's the same brand of bulb, chances are, there is going to be a decent difference in growth between the two. (XMs dont have a large one between their 20K and their 15K). But in a small tank, it wouldn't matter as much since growth isn't the MOST desired thing.

I went from the sunpod 14k to ushio 20k and growth hasn't changed (slow before and still slow) but colors are way better. I didn't "sacrifice" any growth though. might be better I'm just not watching for growth that closely. I know the ushio is more intense because going to the 20ks bleached out my pagoda cup to nearly white and its doing much better and color returned when I moved it down low.

I use a 150w Radium. Previously was a Phoenix 14k but I didn't like the color.

same here.

I'm currently running 2x's 150w radiums over my 40 breeder. I really like the color of the radiums, but I haven't had them long enough (a little over a month) to notice any change in growth.
