what causes acans to bleach? some of my colonies have been bleaching while other haven't. After adding in sps in the tank, im guessing the water got too clean. All the lps stayed at the same spot as before and now they are bleaching. The only new new thing i did was to feed less. what can i do to bring these beauties back? i now started to target feed them with pe mysis and coral frenzy dipped in selcon. anything else?

Typically too much light or if your water gets too warm, will bleach them. When I've bleached acans I'll get them in lower light. I've fed and not fed, and I can't say if the results were positive or not. If the feeders come out, feeding couldn't hurt.

man i think my water is getting too warm then...because my chiller went out on me for awhile now. some are shaded too with minimal light.

You didn't specify your tank and lighting. In my experience, acans appreciate some shade with my 400w MHs in my 24" deep tank. While I haven't yet had any temperature specific issues, I can see that being a problem if the tank gets too warm. Again, you didn't specify the exact temperature of your tank.

If the water got too warm (more then 84) I think you'll see your sps suffer first.

Its pretty weird if you've had them under the same lighting for a while, then suddenly they bleached.

ph is low. 8.1-8.4 more better.

Do you test magnesium? It's important too.

well that's the reading im getting from the rke. I have not tested for mag. how am i suppose to buff up my ph when im adding reef builder from seachem? i add it when my alk drops.
