What are the best ways you guys have used to catch a fish in a reef. I am trying to catch my flame angel in my fully stocked 34g solana. He has taken to nipping at my sps and my one plate coral so i need to get him out before any starts to die. I already have a friend with a FO tank who is going to take him for me.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I know i can take everything out but was hoping there might be other successful ways.

If it will come to the top to feed I would place a net or collection cup in the tank for a few hours then feed and scoop when it comes out.

Thanks, i have the net in the tank right now and will continue to try and get him to come out but he gets pretty sketchy when i start to work on the tank or mess with the net

You need a large net. Leave it in place for bit, then feed the tank.

I used large pieces of acrylic to corner it and then was easy as pie once he realized he wasn't swimming through the acrylic.

I just got a Pacific Blue Tang out by using a net and the handle of my algae scrapper, I scared it out of the rocks with the scrapper and into the corner, used the net by going from the bottom to the top quickly and he was scooped right up.

Two nets. That's what the guys do at my LFS and I did it with a pep shrimp. Worked like a charm. Good luck.

I used a rented "fish trap" for my flame angle. The 2L bottle trick works well too I hear.
