The queen trigger would fit right in with the titan, blue lines and clown. :D This way you can have a death match going on.

I voted for the trio. Seeing their social interactions will be awesome.

I think it's illegal to catch a geribaldi or have one, not sure though.

Out of the Angels you have listed I am not sure any of them would do well since you already have all the triggers and big angels in the tank.

With that being said I would have to go with another trigger or a large or xlarge of the damsel you have listed.

small angels are boring! I think they would not fare well with your bigger fish Dan.

No way! Small angels have just as much personality! Especially a trio of flames! That would be a better site to see than a flagfin! I don't think a trigger would work in this case since you already have so many. The queen would end up owning the tank, a GHT might work. The damsel I think is just a big goldfish, flagfin is kind of boring to me, I like the goldflake better, a trio of bright red flames is where its at! Not to mention to color they will add, and the interaction! Plus I think they can fit right in and no one will give them a second look since they are no threat.

Thanks for the input thus far folks. Here are some of my thoughts:

Flagfin angels look great and are a cheap alternative to goldflakes. The issue would be the fit-in with the other angels, mainly the blueface since it is the jerk if there is one. It picks on the emp when it can even though it is now smaller than it.

Flame angels, I had one before with my queen and clown and other triggers without issue. As mentioned, they were left alone by the big angels and other fish. They do add a ton of color, and 3 would be great to see.

Garibaldi damsel is legally collected in Mexico. I would really be bummed if it was dull as it got older, but if it stayed bright orange like a tusk but without the death to my shrimp I'd be very happy. State fish for me!

Queen trigger, vibrant blue lines and purple on the sides, great markings. Never had an issue with them and cleaner shrimp either. But the other fish it would at the 7.5" range. But that was also in a 135 with a ton of rock, perhaps with the more room things will be different for a while.....

GHTs are like cheetah print and have great color, but in smaller doses and when up close rather than on the other side of the room. Less likely to be mean that the queen, but the one I had before was only 4" and never really came out of the rockwork. I need a bold fish or at least with some size to fare the titan and bigger blue line introduction.

I went Garibaldi Damsel just because I really want one....How cold is your tank though? The reason I have refrained is my understanding that they need temps in the low 70's.....And yes they are caught in Mexico and other parts of Central America legally.

My tank is about 80 with the heater, otherwise it would be 72. During the summer it will be about 80 without the heater, but with a big open sump I can likely bring that down a couple degrees. I'm not worried about the temp though, I don't keep a hot tank, and where they are right now at the warehouse isn't cooled either. A mexico caught one will be more adapted to warmer to begin with rather than off the bay in california.

If I have to pick 1 I would do the Trio of Flame Angels. I would get the ones from Marshall Islands as they are more vibrantly colored

What are you leaning towards Dan? Are you making room for anything or just going to add? Also, where are the fish in QT going? 55g at work?

danorth
04/21/2009, 04:52 PM
I should update the sig. The 10 QT is empty, the neon dottysnack is in the 240 and the blue jaw male is in my kid's 10 until I feel it is brave enough to play in my 55, or possibly the 240.

As far as leaning towards, that queen trigger pic is pretty sweet....but if I didn't get that and went for some flames, I could always see if a queen would fit in later. Really don't know what I'm going to do. I'd love to get a scribbled like Recty got, but don't know when my chance will come.

I thought the GHT would be the best mix with your bunch, even though I like the angel choices a lot.

I would love to see you try a garibaldi damsel with all of your triggers and large angels. Their color is so amazing.

You know you want the Queen, but it's a matter of finding the right fish at the right time.

I do want the queen, but remember how the previous one got a little too mean and had to go. It wasn't attacking the other fish, but it just kept my clown trig from doing its usual laps. That prompted me to sell it last time. But I did call the second lfs and they said that the called the supplier and that the queens are all gone. Crazy. I actually was thinking the garibaldi would be the best bet considering the size of the queen and GHT trigs, and the flames would be cool, but I think I have too many fish for that. I didn't order anything because they had placed their order this morning. So, I will have to wait til next week to see what is available. Thanks for all of the input fellow fish folk!
