Nope. I have seen one person with a trio of sohals, but they didn't speak english so I have no idea how it worked out.

Sure, you can keep a trio of three. But expect them to kill each other.

You can... unsuccessfully! No fish "schools" in a tank, some associate loosely and that is called "shoaling." Sohals are not into associations. They do like to brawl and carry knives in both rear pockets.

My hippo uses my sohal as a trainer. It chases him all over the tank and keeps him in great shape!

Yeah that person had some sick tanks. I can't imagine they were sustainable though.

One should be kept in nothing smaller than a 500 gallon

I have tried 3, 4, 5, and 6 combos of acanthurus sp (all mono specific) ie all pbt, or all achilles etc, as well as to try and see what is possible over the years.
At any one stage I could have posted up pics that, but that would have been a bluff.
Oe day I will post up all my notes over the past 5 years of acanthurus experimentation.

All I can say is that barring a miracle, there is no way that those pbt or sohals would survive for more than a month in those tanks.

Agree, Koreareefcentra's tanks look more like show set-ups than average home long-term aquarium. Wish the owner would have discussed his/her tanks more at the original thread. Could be wrong but his Sohal's appear like playful juveniles, not large psychotic adults.

You are taking big chances with one. Adding 2 is going to end badly.

Well said Massman. The truth is not always what you see.

I agree, that is why I posted earlier saying I don't know the details or how it worked out. Wish I knew. I can easily cram every angelfish into a 55g and take a pic and say they are fine, looks can be deceiving.
