What size sand do you guys recommend? I've been looking at fine sand0.1-1.0mm but does it just look like a constant sand storm? Thanks!

I've been looking at the caribsea live sand

The aragonite? That would work great. It won't look like a sand storm. The key is make sure it's fine-grain. I used Nature's Ocean brand, but caribsea is excellent as well.

How much sand are we talking? Deep or shallow bed? For deep, +1 on the fine grain size -- helps support and define the different bacteria layers, and stays in place well. For shallow, a larger grain is preferrable so it can be siphon cleaned regularly without removing the sand. Flow in the tank also can be a limiting factor -- if you want heavy duty flow, the smaller grains don't get picked up and moved quite as easily as the larger ones -- they tend to lock together and stay in place better.

Or just go with no sand. ;)
