View Full Version : Copperband - Nose Out of Water

On Saturday, I noticed my Copperband swimming completely vertical (I mean perfectly straight up and down) with the tip of his nose out of the water. He wasn't breathing hard or anything... just sitting there for hours. At one point I gently guided him back down toward the front of the tank. He swam around like normal for a few minutes, but then returned to his vertical position.

Unfortunately, when I checked on the tank Sunday morning, I found him dead. The strange thing is that the Copperband was eating like a pig prior to this, and none of the other fish were acting funny. I feed Rod's Food everyday, and the water parameters are normal.

Is this behavior common to any disease, or is this symptomatic of anything else? This really has me stumped.
