I'm thinking about adding a refugium with chaeto to help control algae. How much light will I need to keep the chaeto alive? Can I get by with a typical incondescent plant bulb (40-65 watt) that you find in a hardware or grocery store or would I need something more?

+1 on what Kraze posted.
I have two refugia and use two of those bulbs. Happy customer! Just be sure to get the 6500K ("daylight") bulbs.

I use a similar bulb in mine and have never had an issue, I actually have to remove portions frequently or the chaeto gets too big.
