Hi , Been reading all your advice, and need some of my own. I have a 36" x 18" x 18" tank that I'm lighting with a 250MH and 96 W PC. I'm trying to save on electricity bill and heat in my tank. Will converting over to T5's help out, and what type of T5's should I retrofit with? So many companies to choose from. I have mostly LPS, softies, and zoas. Thanks for your help!

6 39w T5 is less than half the wattage of what you are running now and you will be able to keep anything you want at 18" depth. I would go icecap if looking to retro ( you can get both high out put and very high output kits from reefgeek.com)

With an 18" tall tank, you could use a 4 bulb 156W setup.

thanks nikon, thanks scott...!
Would adding 2 or 3 powerbrites down the center add enough shimmer to the tank that the MH did?

Possibly depending on surface aggetation
