Transferring tank contents to new. Anybody have problems?

Hi guys,

Hey I've got a 36 x 36 frag tank and thinking about transferring to a 6' x 28". I'm getting to the point I need the extra space. Anyways, Who has transferred their tank to a new one and what happened? Lessons learned?

Well, if your live rock goes with it and you use some or all of your old tank water to help fill the new tank, not much will change. Your corals should be fine.
The only issue you will have is that your new tank will go through a small cycle because of all the new surfaces that have to be colonized with bacteria and algae. Also, if you use a new sand bed, that will have a small cycle too.
Most of it should not affect your corals as long as everything else remains stable.
