A couple of weeks ago I picked up some Dendros and they have been doing quite well. My question is, do you need to feed each individual polyp or do they collect and share food?

Feeding one polyp should provide nutrition to the entire colony. I am no expert, though.

I suggest using a turkey baster and mysis shrimp. You should be able to hit every polyp pretty easily.

As far as the inner workings of this animal I have no idea how complex or simple it is.

thanks for the input, I will continue to feed each polyp, it has been working so far.

Feed each polyp...

It will be much happier, and in turn, so will you :D

Are we talking about sun coral, or Dendronephthya?

Could you tell me what you are feeding please? THanks.

I always try to feed all of the polyps. They are so expensive, and I only have three heads, so it's not hard to feed all of them.

i feed mine rods food and they are loving that! i add some oyster feast into the mixture and directly feed them along with my acan's. both love the meaty foods. i have seen growth in new polyps for my acan's but not for the dendros. keep dendors away from any other corals. they will sting and nuke parts of the dendros. the dendros are pretty hardy so keep up with feeding and they will grow back.

I'm sure he is talking about dendrophyllia.
