Converting resvoir to refugim?

I would like to know if it is possible for me to convert that resevoir in the system mini, to a refugium. Has anyone ever tried this? If so what did you do? Thanks.

Here is a link to my tank and the tiny overflow box i built to move water in and out of the refugium area. Small pump moves water in and overflow pours it out.
