IME the bigger the skimmer the better it got. Although at some point I found out how much is too much. Let us know if you find something with this topic :)

Just make sure you watch your cal/alk levels when changing salt mixes. Reef crystals runs around 11-12 alk. Tropic is around 8. You can shock your system if you are not careful. I changed from RC back to Tropic when I started running prodibio. RC made it tough to keep alk below 10.

Color has more to do with lighting in my tank. I changed from 12k to 20k and it changed quite a bit. Sometimes the colors are there but the lighting is just making things look different.

Hi I was using Reef crystals for many of years I've switched over to Seachem reef salt approx a little over a year, and in 2 months my sps and green nepthea all started to look healthier and there colors looked better but this is my tank you may not have the same results my tanks before the switch looked great I got a bucket of seachem reef salt as a gift and my pe was a little better and some colors just got a little deeper and that metallic look to them ,just my 2 cents

I was using ocean pure and keeping my alk at 10. After 2 months using red sea coral pro my alk droped to 7 and I lost 2 pocci's after that.

I like Kent stuff but I have to agree with Seachem reef salt. LFS switched and my sps took OFF!

I switched from IO to seachem reef, all my blues look better. Keep hearing about pottassium for improving colors....and I hear seachem reef has more than most salt. Very happy.

Is there any danger in changing from one salt to another?
