I'm going to be staring another saltwater tank. I want this one to be aggressive, and low cost. I am planning on a fimby. not sure what else could go in there. tanks a 65. thanks

Fimbriatus have a reputation for eating relatively large tankmates. A woman who had one about 12" long called one of the LFS around here wanting to return it because it had eaten her clownfish pair and gobies (all within that week), and while she was on the phone it took down her 5" yellow tang.

I wouldn't risk anything expensive. Try damsels. I can't think of anything else that has a good chance of lasting with a G. fimbriatus in a 65 gallon system.

Will you keep it in the 65 for life? Although fimbriatus is not a large eel (30"), I would keep an adult in a larger tank. I am putting my adult Brazilian dragon moray, which gets about the same size or smaller, in a 90, and I'm concerned that won't be big enough.

I have one. They are very aggressive. If you think you are getting a snowflake eel then by all means throw that thought out the window. This thing ate my 3 inch coral beauty like it was nothing. He is only 13" long. At first it wouodnt eat any frozen prepared meals. I had to feed him damsels. They will eat any damsel you put in the tank. They are very stealth like. At night they are evry active.

I started to feed lance fish and chopped squid from the store. Very oily food to get him going. Now He will eat anything i give him.

This is him after he eat my coral beauty and a piece of srhimp the day before.

Thank you very much. As he has grown he has got more and more lighter in the body and darker on his head. Grows fast as hell as well. Always hungry. I feed every few days once I see that bulge go down.
