tcmfish,

Thank you for your post. We are using page 331 of the World Atlas of Marine Fishes by Rudie Kuiter and Helmut Debelius as a reference to verify the identification of the Pseudochromis tonozukai. We will be checking with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility in the morning to review the sexing of the specimen shown on our Diver’s Den. As soon as we receive further information, we will be posting it here.

Tcmfish,

Thank you for your patience while we checked with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility. They have assured us that they are very confident in the fact that the Pseudochromis tonozukai is identified correctly as a female. Please contact us with any other questions or concerns.

I know that is what the literature says, but the orange fish in the pictures is clearly egg bound, and the male has the typical skinnier look.

I think you have it wrong...
