I just purchased a 15 gallon high aquarium to be used as a sump, but it will not be arriving until next week, I was wondering if someone knew the interior dimensions of this size of a tank, so I can start making the baffles? The LxWxH would be most helpful.

Also is 500 gph too much flow for a 55 gallon aquarium with this 15 gallon sump? I know 300 gph is usually the standard for this size tank

Thanks

You'll want to wait until you get the tank, IMHO - tolerances are pretty tight, and one manufacturer's tank might be 1/8th of an inch different from another's. That can make the difference between being too loose to glue in place, to being so tight it cracks the tank.

As far as flow, 500 gph is not too much for a 55, but it is on the high side. It really boils down to being sure your overflow can handle that volume, and designing baffles in the sump well enough that bubbles don't form. You can always put a ball valve on the line going back to the tank and turn the flow down if it's too much.
