Powerhead in my fuge?

I have a 400 maxi jet that im not using in my display. Should I use it for my refugium?

you could do that, as long as you're not blowing sand around.

Alright. Seems like I have pretty good flow at the top. But I heard of a few people using one. Will this benefit me in anyway.

I would use it intermittently--like for a few days and then wait a couple of weeks especially if one of your purposes is to raise a population of copopods or inverts for the main tank.

Also if you have a dsb in the fuge I would not use a power head---you want the nitrates and phosphates to have time to settle to the bottom so you want just a trickle of flow through there.

But running everyonce and a while gives a good clean out for detrius ect and a good feed to the display tank
