I know they slow down growing as they age, maybe with less growth there is less urgency to molt? If you are on top of water changes, etc. I would not worry much.
Iodine is required for molting, but I've read there is no need to dose since 10% weekly water changes will supply needed concentration. Like for all supplements, if dosing, monitoring is required.

8 months sounds way too long. i had a 5 inch peacock and it would molt about every 2-3 months. are you sure it hasn't just happened and you didn't notice? i highly doubt it's gone 8 months without molting and still be alive.

well i was cleaning the tank and found a tiny piece of a rapt. so he must have molted at one point, he never closed up his burrow however and i have seen him every single day, i guess i was out of it and missed it.

Peacock's can eat their molt to recoup needed compounds from it. Due to hardness, raptors remain as evidence of a molt.

My late Peacock never totally closed burrow, she did stop hitting things and eating for a week or so.

Same with mine...eats like a pig...then quits and gets crabby...then closes one end and goes and sits underneat the overhang at the other end and sulks. This is only the second molt that I know of...think I go her early in Feb. That's about right isn't it Gosermantis? I never found a rapt though and I siphon her gravel every week.
