For those of you who use Selcon do you refrigerate it,or just store it under your aquarium cabinet?I just finished my first bottle and didnt refrigerate, just ordered my second bottle and was just wondering does it preserve it better. The bottle mentions nothing about refrigerating just curious if it matters.

I refrigerate it. I have a small place in my fridge set aside for vitamins, phyto, and supplements.

I keep in a dark, cool part of cabinet.

Don't know if it's required but I do refrigerate it after I open it.

I refrigerate my selcon also.

If you have AAs I would also recommend refrigerating those as well

I have Super Selco that I do refrigerate. I purchase it from Brine Shrimp Direct who state in their usage instructions to store it in a refrigerator.
I also have AlgaMac 3050 from Seahorse Source and I'm switching over completely to that product from Selco types.
I also keep this powder in the refrigerate, and it stores much longer than the Selco type liquid products, and, I get a better dispersion in the culture media.
For you seahorse keepers/breeders:
In reviewing the nutrient/enrichment content levels, the AlgaMac 3050 is very slightly better than Super Selco for my enrichment purposes for seahorse fry.
There is a report that in short, found live artemia enriched with AlgaMac 3050 produced better growth rates than frozen mysis.
"Mean daily specific growth rate (SGR) was higher for the Artemia-only treatment than for the mysid-only treatment"

I don't use selcon, but there is a few things I do refrigerate. I also have a small corner of the fridge, for "fish stuff".

I refrigerate my selcon now.

Last time I didn't, it produced an awful smell when opened. It was placed right beside my fishes food just beside the tank.
