Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get my 24" sunpod, made for a 20gallon high, over my 30" 20 gallon long without making a custom hood?

You could make some aluminum angle irons that span the width of the tank and sit the light inside of them on the toe of the angle.....just a thought.....

Did you think about using the hanging mounts they come with and mount them from your ceiling. I personally think hanging lights not only looks more professional but it easier to adjust how high it hangs over the tank thus decreasing heat on your tank as well.

using the angle iron was going to be some what of a last resort, but it is an option.

I have definitely contemplated hanging the light from the ceiling, but I'm trying to find some hard ware to do this that is not overly expensive. Another slight problem is that my ceiling is about 12' high where my tank is. Anyone have some ideas on hardware?

Agree w/ Jessy's conduit trick, works great, simple/cheap to make.
Also paintable if you want hide/make match.

I hung mine from 2 hooks in the ceiling. I bought the braided wire at Wally world and the hooks too.
