I have had a coco worm now for 6 months. Of course at first he was nice and colorful, but, now, his plume is half the size and it looks like it has bleached out. It is not as colorful as it once was :(

Coco worms don't have zooxanthellae so they don't bleach. However they do need heavy feeding of phytoplankton. Otherwise they will periodically shed their crown and grow smaller ones that take less energy to maintain. Eventually they simply starve.

I dont think mine ever shedded. Its like they got frazzled and never grew back, but, I will take the advice into account, thanks.

Cocoas also need calcium to be at levels consistent with hard corals.

Would that be for tube building or personal health reasons?
