Can I do a high salinity dip on my LR. Or will this put my tank in a new cycle. I can not trap the Mantis. I am ready to dip with salinity of 1.40 i read. I heard this will not harm the Rock. But I want to make sure.

why not remove the live rock ---put it in a plastic pails with the water from your tank. You can use the water from your tank and drain it even further to make it easier to get the mantis.
After you have caught it--dump everthing back in--monitor ammonia levels and if they spike at all do a water change.

So just putting the rock in a bucket will draw him out?

it will make him easier to catch if you get him out of the rock
