New growth in tank, Don't know what it is.

I am noticing these small white cotton looking balls with an open end, sort of like a tunicate growing on my LR and on the base of some of my LPS. I am also noticing some porous sponge like growth that is white and has long thin rigid finger like extensions. Please let me know if any of you have seen something like this. Is it harmful? How do I get rid of it?

sounds like a sponge,and the other normal growing corals,white like cyrstals,yes......then normal....

+1 its a harmless sponge, seen more often in young tanks

sorry no pics. "white crystals" yes sort of like that. are they bad?
