Best calcium reactor and why? I am getting a 125 gallon system and would like to compare the so-called balling method vs reactors.

I am interested in this too for my 175 bowfront 250 gallon system

GEO 624, I've had mine running flawlessly with a reef fanatic regulator and milwk controller, and I have a heavily stocked sps tank around 200g total volume, and when i upgrade in the future it will still be able to handle it.

Best is probably Aquacare. But NOT inexpensive.

Precision Marine - under the radar, but very easy to setup and dial in

Personally I like the Korallin, Geo, and Deltec. However a calcium reactor setup is so much more than the acrylic tube that you put the media into.

More important than the reactor, you also have to consider the CO2 regulator, feed pump, and PH controller.

Why don't more people simply dose calcium via a dosing pump?

I can't personally compare anything to it, but I run a GEO 818. No issues here. The things a beast.

I like my Korallin because its compact and fits underneath my stand easily.

I have a precision marine and seems to be pretty easy. It's only been up for a week but so far so good.

As far as the reactor itself, it is just an acrylic tube that holds media.

Your PH Monitor, Regulator, and sometimes recirc pump are the things to really look into.

I'm running a Geo 618 with reef fanatic controller and regulator. No problems here.

I like the Korallin, Geo, and KZ calcium reactor. The new Vertex reactor looks good as well.

Which calcium reactor would you recomend for 90g tank? I am about to buy one but can't make up my mind.

people do dose ca along with alk. - called 2 part or similar items - those that have moved to a CA reactor have done so perhaps thinking the CA Rea. ends up being cheaper in the long run, less task oriented, more consistent and/or they like more gadgets

I was having to dose 230 ml of each of 2 part a day and was still not keeping up on a 140 gallon system - I researched - GEO was recommended more so than others - I got one (612) and it is now turned perfectly and I am happy. - I ended up using a reef fanatics regulator which I can only manage with a finer, better, more expensive, user-installed needelvalve - so it is ok. And I installed a effluent flowmeter and also a purge valve at the top of the reactor to purge air. Still, I am happy with the move to the CA Rx - which I actually call a alkalinity reactor.
