Taking out the guns

So my pistol shrimp has become way too aggressive for my tank, he has smoked way too many of my crabs.

Do you have any ideas how to capture him?

I really don't want to take the rock work apart, its about 90lbs of rock and they would never look the same again.

So how can I get the guy out?

Givem a glove slap, tellem you are offended, and challenge his honor... When he comes out to duel... grab him!

Seriously... I caught mine, back when I had one, with a...hmmm, it wasn't a pill bottle, it was a little larger... but that shape. I set it infront of his hole, and curiousity got him, I guess. Took all of 2 hours. I mighta got lucky, but it worked. I moved the rock around, and put him back in, all was good. I wasn't trying to get him out, just trying not to chrush him when I moved his rock.

IMO I'd keep him if he's taking out regular crabs. He's not as much of a threat as any crab is to corals or snails or whatever.

Ditto on the bottle trick. I used a pint glass with a piece of raw shrimp in it. Caught every hermet in my tank as well as the mystery crab in just one night.

Well, I was. But I wasn't planning on waiting, but I wasn't expecting it to happen so fast.
