Live Rock Question

I just got a nice live rock that was in a friends tank for a long time. It's covered with Green Star Polyps and came with a bunch of mini brittle stars. It's been in my tank for about a week now and I have noticed what appear to be sand tubes leading from the bottom of the rock down into and along the sand. The remind me of the type of mud tubes that termites build.
Do I have sand termites. :D

no termites... are they white tubes? I think everyones tank has them, they are pretty standard, just some kind of filter feeding worm. check Melev's site for specific ID's to be sure

So they build the sand tubes to get from the rock to the sand bed?
